Spring is here and so are spring trends! While I love all the trends this year has given us, (safari, white boots, monochrome outfits), I don’t like to build my wardrobe with only trendy pieces.
The thing about trends is; they are fun but they usually change quickly. This is why I have a complied a list of 6 wardrobe essentials you should have in your closet. These outfit essentials are cute and classic and will be in style for years to come!
White Blouse/Cami•
First we have the white blouse, or cami. I love this piece because you can wear it out on a date, or dress it down with some vans. It’s such a versatile and cute piece perfect for spring! The one I’m wearing here is from Nasty Gal.
Statement Blazer•
Next we have the statement blazer. I love this blazer because it can turn your casual daytime look into a nighttime look. You can also wear it for work! I chose this red one from Zara because I am in love with red, and the quality is amazing. BUT if red is too loud for you, choose a more muted color, like white, cream, or green.
White Tee•
Next is the white tee. I’d suggest having multiples of these in your wardrobe. A white tee is so versatile, AND it’s easy to throw on when you don’t feel like trying too hard with your outfit. I’ve been loving styling a cute white tee tucked into my mom jeans. When it comes to white tees I believe you can never have too many of them! The one I’m wearing below is from Brandy Melville.
Favorite Jeans•
Everyone needs a good pair of jeans! I chose these Zara mom jeans because, they are SO comfortable, cute and go with most outfits! You can’t go wrong with these! They are a light wash for spring, but I’d also suggest having a pair of black jeans in your wardrobe as well!
Statement Coat•
Even though it’s warming up in LA during the day, we still have some chilly nights. That’s why my next pick is a good coat. The one I’m wearing here is my Zara camel coat. I’ve know I’ve mentioned it before, but I couldn’t do a wardrobe essentials post without it. This coat is gorgeous, will last for years and pulls every outfit together.
Solid Boots•
Last but certainly not least is a solid pair of boots. For me these ones from Senso fit the bill. They are a classic short black boot with a zipper detail to add some style. I wear them all the time and they still look brand new! And I love that because they are short, they go with jeans, dresses and shorts. Invest in boots that are comfortable, that you can wear with most of your wardrobe, and most importantly that you LOVE.
With these 6 items you have a foundation for your wardrobe. You can wear them together, or mix them with trendier pieces for endless combinations!
Whether your into classic, or more trendier pieces, I hope you have a blast creating a wardrobe that you LOVE.
